The cambelt, or timing belt, is the most important maintenance item in your engine. Its job is to keep the camshaft and crankshaft timed as they should be, to keep both halves of your engine in sync. Over time your cambelt will stretch and as a result, the engine timing may get delayed. Eventually, if not replaced, it can snap and if that happens you run the risk of very expensive damage to your engine.
